FT Island Transformed Into Documentary Movie Directors

FT Island becomes the director for the new Mnet documentary music programme “Director’s Cut“. In every episode of “Director’s Cut“, stars will appear on the show with a non-celebrity as the main character, producing a documentary movie. Thereafter, the “Director’s Cut” OST group, formed by Yoon Jongshin and Hareem, will produce the backgroud music for the movie.

FT Island’s Jaejin, Minhwan and Jonghoon who debuted as movie directors through the “Director’s Cut” programme, produced a documentary show featuring the passionate youth, Park Hojin, who’s into various fields like cooking, pet grooming, tattoo and fixed bikes.

It wasn’t easy to get a slot out of Park Hojin’s busy schedule in the first place. The boys wanted to help out in serving at Park Hojin’s restaurant, however, due to some schedule changes, they had to postpone the filming to the next day, despite having waited so long. They said , “We thought that it’s just a normal filming but it’s really not easy being a director.”

FT Island Promotes New Japanese Single Over the Weekend

FT Island’s 3rd single “So today…” was revealed over this past weekend as they got to showcase the single for fans at a special event. FNC Music stated that about 10,000 fans stood to watch the boys both in Osaka and Toyko for their live performance.

The new single represents the band’s growth as artists as some of the tracks were composed by the members themselves. “Boom Boom Boom” was written by Lee Jae-jin and composed by Choi Jong-hoon while the new track, “So Today…” and “I Change for You” was written both by Jae-Jin.

The new single is getting lots of fan love as it reached sixth place on Japan’s Oricon daily singles chart earlier this week. The group, as far as their Japanese music is concerned, has seen three of its singles hit the top 10 slots of the Oricon albums chart so far. Congratulations to them!
